The Fantastic Four continues to fill its cast and has now found the next Silver Surfer: Ozark's Julia Garner. Who the hell is Shalla-Bal though?

Marvel Studios' upcoming Fantastic Four film has confirmed Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer, though in the Shalla-Bal version instead of Norrin Radd. For those unfamiliar with this character, Shalla-Bal is the immortal Empress of Zenn-La and eventual lover of Norrin Rad, becoming the Herald of Galactus in exchange for saving her planet. Deadline's report might not be entirely accurate as the film could focus on Radd's Surfer persona with Shalla-Bal appearing only as a ruler. Regardless, fans argue that Shalla-Bal deserves better as Silver Surfer. Production is expected to begin soon under Matt Shakman and release in July 2025.
